Plastic is man-made things. Which is available everywhere from Mount Everest to the foothills of the ocean. Today plastic carry bags are littered with tourist spots, beaches, river drains, drains, barns, all the places outside the land. This invention, made nearly thirty decades ago, has unleashed such an effect. That today each product gets into plastic bags. And when they come home, these bags are turning into garbage and damaging the environment.

Today, plastic bags are being used in such a large quantity that one trillion plastic bags are used in a year all over the world. Worldwide, the use of plastic reaches 320 million tons per day, and 2.41 million tons of which end up in the ocean. In 1997, Charles Moore first reported the existence of The Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP). In 2009, plastic can be found in all ocean floors. In 2013, microplastics have become marine pollutants scattered throughout the world. The amount of waste increased in Indonesia has reached 175,000 tons/day or the equivalent of 64 million tons/year. The biggest challenge for waste management is handling plastic waste that is not environmentally friendly. Every year Indonesia's garbage is increasing, in 2017 even Indonesia's total garbage reached 187 million tonnes/year. To date, the Government has not yet found the right formula for addressing the issue of waste. Data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry explains that in 2019 waste in Indonesia will reach 68 million tons. While waste plastic is expected to reach 9.52 tons. Based on statistical data on Indonesian domestic waste, the amount of plastic waste reaches 14 percent of the total waste production in Indonesia.

Environmental scientists have described twenty microns of thickness of plastic bags as very deadly in the environment. These bags kill germs useful for crops by burying them. The plastic of these bags contains a panli vinyl chloride, which poisons groundwater by being buried in the ground. Plastic waste blocking the river creates flood conditions. Spreading pollution in the air leads to many incurable diseases. Plastic bags thus harm the environment. The methodology of Say No To Plastic Bags has to be followed so that our environment can be protected from this big problem.

The manufacturers of plastic bags are getting some benefit and the consumers are also getting the facility to carry the goods. But this transient gain is causing long-term damage to the environment. Some people advocate banning thin plastics from twenty micron or more supporting recycling of thick plastics. But that recycled plastic also contaminates allergies, skin diseases and packaged foods.

The use of plastic bags is currently downright deadly in environmental conditions. It enhances incurable diseases. It is also known as the enemy of the environment due to many losses. Plastic industries may have a momentary advantage, but they also affect their health. Therefore, it is necessary in the public interest to impose a complete ban on plastic bags. However, most plastic manufacturers against the ban on the use of plastic bags, which has been implemented by several local governments in Indonesia. They said that plastic bags should not be blammed but the pattern of society in the use of plastic. Moreover, the root of the problem is not the plastic material, but waste management that is not properly considered and done well. They expecting the Indonesian government to improve the quality of collecting and handling plastic waste to the regions, especially areas that are not touched by the city management system.
